How Obama Saved Capitalism and Lost the Midterms
He has not saved capitalism.  Extend and pretend is not salvation.
Now when it falls under it's own weight it will be the Republicans fault?
    This I want to see.

Many Retailers Report Sluggish Sales in June
“Many Retailers Report Sluggish Sales in June - http://nyti.ms/beMtKV Need to offer 1-Hr in-store shop & delivery by www.TheNowMall.com”

The retailers are seeing hope in a smaller disaster.

Both years are disasterous. If twenty in the area ceased operations last year and only eighteen did this year it is still a very bad year.

      Business Day
I saw the chart earlier on the previous list.
That I do not hear screams is surprising. It must be that everyone got dumped.  There were more black workers than white managers. The workers do not see the overseers living a life of privilege though they do  sell their houses and move out of the neighbourhood. It does not add insult to injury if supervisors run nursing homes in Florida after leaving the cotton mill in South Carolina.  The workforce is left to scratch and the children get sent to Afghanistan.

The over the counter market is of interest.  It has existed but that it has re-spawned in California on line is just a bit of a surprise.

    Do Believe the Hype
On a visit to India, seeing how one start-up is helping people move their bank branch from the mattress to the cellphone.
When I was spending full time on solar projects in the mid seventies there was a good flow of papers out of India. India has a long and rich technical tradition. The level of mathematical sophistication found there is the equal of any in the world. Much of the work was mirror concentrators for cooking and methane digesters for process fuel. One that stands out in my memory was an instrumented ox cart. I find the concept of improvements in ox cart technology comical.  Why in the world would one bother? pneumatic tires are a given but beyond that what could you change? I do not think it was a failure of imagination on my part. I have not seen or heard of any results.  It is not like the South African clock work radio which has numerous descendants.  I do not think we need to worry over much about India.  China is another matter.  They may escape the immediate needs trap but it does not look like they will this time.   General famine is about one year away and drawing closer all the time.
The government is working all out to stay ahead but with the better communications the tactic of sacrificial areas will not work as it did.
The migrants will not let their families starve. All of China will starve together.

“Good morning. Peter Baker's smart news analysis. "For Obama, Tide Turns, Starkly" - http://nyti.ms/9k3Y1J”

Things do not read like this election was a surprise.
We will get hoovervilles during the next two years. getting them in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Kentucky seems like the best way to deal with a really bad situation.  I will await developments and play my financial game.  22months  and eight seasons is not too long to decide whether this man needs to be replaced.  There will be several volunteers.  Their level of economic sophistication will have to be on display.

Fall Foliage Gums Up Subways in Brooklyn
Fallen leaves have slicked the rails of several open-air subway lines, including the Franklin Avenue shuttle in Brooklyn. And that means delays for riders.
Good thing I don't live in Brooklyn.  We will have frost this weekend.
The rain will blow through and there will be some dramatic pictures.
