In Central Park, Finding a Bed Among the Trees
There are thousands of places in Manhattan to spend the night, but for two men from Florida, the best rest is found in an elm tree.
It looks to be a European elm.

Defying Trend, Canada Lures More Migrants
Provinces like Manitoba have won new power to bring foreigners in, handpicking ethnic and occupational groups.
Canada has been smart.  I won't live there.  I like to visit and will happily have a winter camp there.  I think I know who has one for sale.

Chinese Vase Is Sold in London for $70 Million
The $69.5 million for a 18th-century vase, found in a family home, is believed to be the highest ever paid at auction for a Chinese antiquity.
Not that old and not that good.  NEW MONEY.

    Believing in Barack
In spite of present-day challenges, being sure that both President Obama and the New York Mets will prevail.
The way to fix medical costs is to simply pay the bill.  That will immediately devalue hospital administration, a then trivial problem, and bankrupt all the filters the insurance industry has constructed.  The nurses can then get paid a living wage along with the tecks and maintenance staff.  Doing nothing will return the rate structure to Clinton. Few screams there.  When the AMT bites, There will be lots of screams.  Maybe we can get that fixed then.  If it is played right it is all the Republicans fault.

The Price 20-Somethings Pay to Live in the City
New Yorkers in their 20s are living in ever smaller spaces and moving to neighborhoods once considered dicey.
The price is very high. Wait a year to a year and a half, it will seem much lower.  The Euro must break first.

Cats Lap With Just Tip of the Tongue, Engineers Find
Engineers developed a formula to determine how cats drink, a lapping method too fast for the human eye to see.
Harold E. Edgerton did this work without a cat or a robot. I liked the man a great deal.

Those address lists are really valuable to the business.  Frustrate them.

    The Blasé Mandate
Could voters already be experiencing a bit of buyer’s remorse after the midterm elections? A new poll suggests that might be the case.
I hoped to see the Republican party die this election.  Like Mets fans, I will have to wait till next time.
