Leslie Nielsen, Actor, Dies at 84
Mr. Nielsen was a Canadian-born actor who in middle age tossed aside three decades of credibility in dramatic and romantic roles to make a new career as a comic actor.  I never consciously saw his films. The lines are pervasive.

A Note to Readers: The Decision to Publish
The articles published today and in coming days are based on thousands of United States embassy cables, the daily reports from the field intended for the eyes of senior policy makers in Washington.

I am glad the Times agrees with me.  I am willing to let them work. If I have questions the answers will be available.

The Sort of Stuff She Grew Up With
“The Sort of Stuff She Grew Up With - http://bit.ly/2PzGO3 Ana Meier (Richard Meier's daughter) & Charlie Ferrer -collection of furniture”
Garret Reitveldt did not design in this style. Get the names right.
I can do better for a bit less money.

Now a Giant, Google Works to Retain Nimble Minds
The pace at a big company is far slower than at a start-up, a difference that matters to the entrepreneurial spirit. Google is faced with a mature functionality. The adventures are getting rare.  They need new worlds to conquer.

Showing Gay Teens a Happy Future
A new online video channel is reaching out to teenagers who are bullied at school for being gay. The message: life really does get better after high school.

Life will be very much better with you in it.  I have many intentions. I can hardly call them plans.
I see that Obama has frozen federal wages for two years.  The progressive blogs I look at are ready to riot.  I was about to join in when the thought occurred to me that this is a terrible act if one expects inflation as the Republicans do. I expect vigorous deflation.
Social security is indexed. I expect civil service wages are also indexed. In a deflation the index goes negative and indexed payments shrink. You may soon thank Obama for this freeze.

Web Upgrade HTML 5 May Weaken Privacy
Changes in the way the Web works could give marketers access to many more details about users’ online activities.
As of November 1 it was still vapour-ware. No meaningful reports since.
