    Two-Tier Wage Scales Gain Traction
Even at companies that are profitable, union workers are reluctantly agreeing to contracts that create two levels of pay on a permanent, rather than temporary, basis.
This would be abject surrender.  The only way the managers will get this is to threaten to go entirely overseas or to go out of business.  Labor has been repeatedly abused by these practices.  Better to wipe out the management and rebuild the business.

    Hiding From Reality
The nation is in denial about the true extent of its problems, from the economy to the deficits to the wars overseas.

      Cellphones and Cancer - A Far-From-Settled Issue
“Cellphones and Cancer - A Far-From-Settled Issue - http://nyti.ms/d5Z3s9. Holding a cellphone against your head maybe hazardous.”
How does this group propose to have mobile communications? Towing the phone on a string does not appeal. Having a service dog carry it would be clumsy.  Phone booths could work but we dumped those.  MacBooks! with head sets.

       Just a reminder.
      I LOVE YOU.

      John Boehner, Speaker-Elect, Flies Commercial
“Nice. Perhaps if our "leaders" experienced what we do, they'd protect us. http://nyti.ms/amAcq8 Boehner flies commercial, skips pat-down.”  Looking good is the sum total.

Haiti’s Canal Crews Brave Muck to Help Stem Cholera
Workers must clean out by hand the canals and ditches that pass as Haiti’s sewers, dealing with the squalor that is helping to spread cholera.
This is the essential work of civilization.  To fail to pay for it is to fail as a government. There is no incomplete, only compounding failure.  The US Marines  have tried to impose responsibility as has the UN.  The GOP sets a very bad example.

No Boo-boos or Cowlicks? Only in School Pictures
The practice of altering photos has trickled down to the school portrait, as more parents increasingly choose retouching.
So often these are the portraits that survive.  Why not have the perfect child the parents want to remember.
