A Relentless Opponent Stalks the Locker Room
“Powerful piece on #concussions and #football by former Harvard captain on eve of Penn game - http://nyti.ms/bq5yva”
"The solution is not to stop playing football. Football offers structure and discipline to players and builds communities in meaningful ways."

There are other sources of these things that do not kill for sport.
The end of Football is inevitable.  Classical combat has little use beyond crowd control.  It should be part of police training but has little purpose in learning.  Teach close order drill if you must.
An alternative athletic endeavour would be to teach classical ballet.
It would do all those good things this team captain so values.

Budget Puzzle: You Fix the Budget
Today, you’re in charge of the nation’s finances. Make your own plan for closing the 2015 and 2030 budget gaps, then share it online.
I did not discover the share button.  The solution is easy.  Soak the rich.

This Is Your Brain on Metaphors
    Fascinating consideration.
I still see no hopein the middle east.  It is a game of extend and pretend.
The Palestinians will be removed from the West Bank or the state of Israel will.

Who Will Stand Up to the Superrich?
The issue is whether the country can afford the damage being done by the ever-growing income inequality between the wealthiest Americans and everyone else.
    They certainly will.

      “Twitter Tapping - http://bit.ly/4q2yIE”
      There is political power there.
Government is an exercise in political power.
Did we really expect these channels to remain free of snooping?
Make the inspectors flag their inspections for the inspected would be a start.
Reading other peoples mail should be discouraged.

How Mutual Fund Managers Are Like Cigarette Makers - Bucks Blog
“How Mutual Fund Managers Are Like Cigarette Makers - Bucks Blog - http://nyti.ms/bZGMNM”
This may be news to some but I have been hearing this message for about thirty years.  My brokers advice has been good but not great.
Mostly he makes me think before I act foolishly.  I think it is well worth his fee.

    Cellphones and Cancer - A Far-From-Settled Issue
If you assumed that worries about cellphone radiation were unfounded, a new survey of scientific investigations suggests that you think again.
This is a very serious case of massaging the data to reach a desired result.
This is usually called FRAUD.  Go read the header on the PDF.  They measured a negative correlation and fixed it.
Cell phones are social negatives but they are not dangerous.

Nazis Were Given ‘Safe Haven’ in U.S., Report Says
A report, which the Justice Department has tried to keep secret, provides new evidence about notorious Nazi cases.
This is a nonstory.  It is intended as an attack on the powers of government to trade for information.

Why do people get so agitated when discussing hipsterism? Pierre Bourdieu’s “Distinction” provides some clues.
I heard it the first time. It is still solid.  Is this Savanarola's text?

I am still rather shakey. The variation on the  rhino virus this year is nasty and juicy.  Let me get on with it.
