      A Gift From Long Ago
“A Gift From Long Ago - Bob Herbert http://nyti.ms/dOYOGW”
Wise men run from politics.  Joe Kennedy  Left a large debt to his children. They tried to pay it.  We have a lot to build To get as good people in positions of power.  Why do local politics make me feel so befouled.

Jonathan Swift Is enough.  We need wiser politicians. Ones who can read.

    The Real Threat to America
The fear industry has engineered security’s victory over freedom.
At last a loud voice!  My point.

Fine by me but I would just as soon miss the boutique Hotels.  Lets look a bit harder. Cypress on the Greek side Seems a better bet. The Turks are probably much cheaper but I distrust the Islamic moral code. Crete maybe.

      Four Deformations of the Apocalypse
“Four Deformations of the Apocalypse - http://nyti.ms/bRCbIo written by a conservative-how GOP's plan is/ will not work”
David Stockman is Arguing for his political life. He is smart enough to see the million pounds of shit coming and is desperately trying to disown it.  No one wants to deal with our problems.  Jamming the political process is worse than not dealing with the problem. It grows it.
      Watch the California Conservatives.

Norfolk, Va., on Front Line, Tackles Rise in the Sea
As sea levels rise, tidal flooding is disrupting life in Norfolk and all along the East Coast, a development many climate scientists link to global warming.   Theirs is a problem of land subsidence. The peat under the development is loosing its water. This is not to be conflated with the two or three inches of sea level rise since these houses were built. If they succeed in blaming sea level for their problem it will poison the argument.
Tell these demagogues to sit down and shut up.  They took the bribes and now must take the blame.  Federal Flood insurance is their only lifeline.

In South Korea, Children Ease Alzheimer’s Bite
South Korea is training thousands, including children, as “dementia supporters,” to recognize symptoms and care for patients.
Korea, N&S, lost its elderly 60 years ago. There simply have been none.

It sounds very much like ward politics.  I have read about it and saw a last gasp of it when I was on 54th street.  It is easily seen as profoundly corrupt.  The fine structure can easily be virtual I see no problem with that. The problem comes when there is a significant disenfranchised population.  Everyone needs to be heard on this very local basis and no group can be seen to be gaining special privilege.
It is an eternal temptation to abuse this or any political machine.

New U.S. Politics Brings Mixed Message for Israel
“Mixed Message for Israel - http://nyti.ms/fdUc2i Israel should realize Rand Paul / Tea Party are example of new rule, not exception to it.”

This new gang in Washington wants Armageddon.
I had a thought on how to deal with the black townships of South Africa a few days ago.  I wonder if some such might deal with the Levant.  Offer a paid Yeshiva education to any Palestinian who wishes to attend. They are at least as genetically  Jewish as the Israelis. On the completion of such an education offer Israeli citizenship and residency subject to national service. In a few generations this will produce a real one state solution. I expect giggles followed by thought.

      There is a reparation owed.
What its form should be I can't say.
The Tea Party thinks it knows and is ducking the bill.
It is not a responsible act and should be recognised as such.
The Israelis have much the same problem.

      A missionary effort?
