    Divided We Fail
How bad will it be if Republicans win control of the House next week? Very, very bad.

      Rethinking Early Retirement in Europe
“A Korean man over 75 is more likely to be working than a Frenchman in his early 60s. http://nyti.ms/akpIwN”
      Contractual obligations.
France has had a retirement age of 60 for several years. You would expect most men above retirement age to retire.
This is a useless puff piece.

4-Year-Old Can Be Sued, Judge Rules in Bike Case
The judge ruled that the young girl, accused of running down an elderly woman, can be sued for negligence.   Not ripe yet.  Wait for the injustice to happen.  The judge gave permission, not an award.

Income distribution does not enter these calculations.
The rich got richer 2% faster than the poor got poorer.
The rich do not produce much.
Some of the poor are destitute.  There is a zero bound there too.

McDonald’s Workers Are Told Whom to Vote For
Employees at a restaurant in Canton, Ohio, got a political pamphlet with their paychecks urging them to vote for the Republican ticket.
Slavery . . . The managers are not supposed to be able to know how the staff votes. discovering that indirectly is criminal.  The courts must convict on proof.  Termination after the vote should convince the grand jury. failure to investigate would be a civil rights violation.  What a lovely can of worms.

You just can't tax tropical Forrest.  You can tax a lumber Barron.
He has probably already paid locally.   Elephant and rhino populations in Africa are recovering after trade bans.  Worth a try

Detroit Reins In Its Theatre Bizarre
“Some NYTimes coverage for my hometown friends! Detroit Reins In Its Theatre Bizarre - http://nyti.ms/9LtRXP”
I guess that the right palms were not greased.  The regime changed recently.  Ann is not that kind of adventurous and re professor former husband would have none of that. Their daughter is afraid of me.  I might corrupt her into thinking.  I do send her graphic novels, the illustrated kind.

Just a reminder that even on Halloween I am not a ghost.

I love you
Some sleep.

    It’s Morning in India
When America slips into a bad mood, everyone notices. India, for one, has.
I have less and less patience with Thomas Friedman. His "hyper competitive world" is a school of sharks in a feeding frenzy" or the first comers at a post holiday sale.  The industrial system is broken and the cleaning crew is in charge.

The Grand Old Plot Against the Tea Party
The ordinary Americans in the Tea Party movement lack the numbers and financial clout to muscle their way into the back rooms of Republican power.

Why Evan Williams of Twitter Demoted Himself
“Why Evan Williams of Twitter Demoted Himself - http://nyti.ms/bFUBjA”
There is more here than I can take in this morning. Bookmarked
I see why he did it.  If I were in that trap I might also.  My plan is to create in small volume and sell hits outright to US makers.
Leave factory management to those who want to do it.  I just want to support a large selection of big boy toys and some help.  Taking students is a classic.
