2 Billion seems a low price to buy Pakistan.  We must watch that it does not escalate.
"The malefactors of great wealth" are once again major players in our political process.  If they were not so profoundly self interested and stupid, if they could be "enlightened" that would not be the worst thing that could happen.  Unfortunately that will not happen.

Other players have made us vulnerable to cyber attack. The security minded see this as an opportunity to seize more power.  Alternatively it is an opportunity to build a system that is proof against attack. This would reduce the income at Microsoft and disempower the security interests.  I do not see it happening until things irreparably crash across the board.
China is not yet skilled at the diplomatic game but they are very ambitious.  The play in Darfur is for oil.  The Chinese have contracted with the Islamic north. The death there will continue.
Supper is called and I must go for the moment.  I will keep a copy and try to fill in the complete details.
