      The Seat Not Taken
“The Seat Not Taken - http://nyti.ms/anz9JM He used to be a professor at my alma mater UMASS. As a "white" man I'd sit next to you. ”
Consider the situation if it were inverted.
It may not be good but it is far better than it has been.

The Tools You Really Need to Maintain Your Home
Spend about $250 now and you’ll avoid repeated trips to the hardware store.
With this kit you will never have what you need for any job.

There are no drill bits. There is no knife. There is no chisel. You will need three and a sharpening stone.  There are no allen keys, inch or metric.  There are no punches, centre, nail set, drift, alignment, awl, leather, transfer, letters and numbers. There is no cold chisel. There is no hacksaw. There are no files. There no compass or dividers or calliper. there is no scriber. there is no square of any kind. no straight edge. No tweezers. No glue of any kind. No clamps no string. no chalk line. no stick chalk. no oil and oil can. No solvents.  No glass cutter. No soldering iron. No torch. No solders or fluxes. No calculator. No references.  The screwdrivers are insufficient. The drill is a battery drill. The saw. There is no way to sharpen it. There is no feather file.
I own and use about twenty striking tools, hammers of various kinds.
None of the claw hammers has a flat face. I own and use ten different hand saws. No pull saws. I have and use five different power saws.
I still get to the hardware store often.

Banks Ignored Signs of Trouble in Foreclosures
The foreclosure chaos, caused by disorganization and inexperienced employees, came as no surprise to insiders.
Propaganda. The problem came from the board rooms.  Don't blame the "help" brought on after the fact.

Yes.  The studies are about as conclusive as any finite study can be.
The objective seems to be grandchildren, not smart children.

For the A-Cup Crowd, Minimal Assets Are a Plus
Many women these days want to showcase their small chests, not pad them out. Retailers are listening.
I love you.  I will go to you when you ask me.  There is nothing that is more important to me.

Wal-Mart Plans Drive to Buy More Locally Grown Produce
Under the program, the chain will invest in training and infrastructure for small and medium-sized farmers and measure the efficiency of large suppliers in growing and getting their produce to market.
I think we should look very carefully at he definitions in this change of policy.  Wal-mart in the past has bought from the cheapest source and sold in great bulk at a cheap price.  Their object has been to squeeze profit margins of producers down to nothing and by keeping their own profit margins small and positive to kill all competition. Their income is small on any item but small margins on all products in a market produce generous profits for a few.  That local marketing does not compete on price must make their management nuts.

    What Oman Can Teach Us
Instead of using military force to fight extremism, we might learn from the remarkable country of Oman and try education.

We have known the lesson of Oman.  I am very curious as to how and why it is neglected.

Paladino Loses Rabbi’s Support Over Apology to Gays
Rabbi Yehuda Levin said Carl P. Paladino, the Republican nominee for governor, “folded like a cheap camera” after his antigay remarks.
The progress of this incident demonstrates Paladino's  opportunism.
    It should be unforgiven.

U.N. Weighs How to Answer a Knock on Earth’s Door
      “U.N. Weighs How to Answer a Knock on Earth’s Door - http://nyti.ms/dfHlu0”
I will be amused. As you may not know the question has been thoroughly discussed in circles I am familiar with. Panspermia is discredited at this time. Life originated and evolved here.  There have been no biological nasties from beyond. Anything biological that got here is either part of the genome or it did not make it. SETI, search for extra-terrestrial intelligence has been a funded continuing project for the last fifty years.  There have been no hits.  Any electrical civilization within one hundred light years that existed one hundred years ago would have been detected.  The light speed limit looks to be very solid. The best velocity imagined for any practicable interstellar drive is about one tenth light.  This puts closest possible interstellar visitor one thousand years in the future and probably much further than that. It would seem that we are on our own and are the elder race.  This is the answer to Enrico Fermi's question:"Where is everybody?"  If there are to be visits we must make them.  There is a lot of work to be done.  None of it is worrying about invasions from outer space.

Spark Capital Raises a New Fund
Spark Capital, the Boston-based venture capital firm that has investments in Twitter, Tumblr and Boxee, has created a new fund to invest in Web and digital media companies.
      In a word, No.
I intend to own and control any business I establish. If real capital is required there are bank loans and bonds and preferred stock. In desperation I would consider selling a minority interest.   When I feel it is time I will pass control to another individual who will be responsible for the operation.  There is no other way not to be subject to the fiduciary responsibility rule of management.

Rising Cost of Kimchi Alarms Koreans
A sharp increase in the price of the fiery national dish, caused in part by rising cabbage prices, has led the South Korean government to take action.
Napa cabbage Does well in northern California. At these prices there should be a brisk export trade.  Fermentation takes more experience than I have. I do not want to do my development near my dwelling.  Pickles and sour dough and cheese are in the same craft.  So is compost.  In compost I have confidence.

Turning Business Owners Into Stars of Their Own Stories
“Turning Business Owners Into Stars of Their Own Stories - http://nyti.ms/9ApY0J”
Knowing the buyer or the maker might increase my confidence in a product or service. Knowing a story about a past maker or buyer is not going to do much for me.  This is  probably a loosing operation. The process that led to the production in hand is the story of interest.

This house played with hot buttered rum thirty years ago. It can have a real kick. I would leave this kind of thing on an unread page.  Stick with coffee and leave the Irish out of it.  Hot Alcohol is far too effective.   The question still is can you have just one.

I love you means I want to be there in the morning and every morning.  65 characters.  I will make breakfast. 24 characters.  89 total.  Well under 140.  Back rubs and foot rubs don't have character limits. Neither do hugs.
