Following Trail of Lost AIDS Patients in Africa

Very sad.  I have no solution for when faith overcomes fact.  It kills.

They should do new work.  The old was art.

You must know that it has become an adult holiday on Manhattan.
An excuse for a costume party and a down town parade.  I have seen the crowd but not the parade.  San Francisco is probably much the same.

As Populations Age, a Chance for Younger Nations
“As Populations Age, a Chance for Younger Nations - http://nyti.ms/aeDxkJ <- Impresionante!”
Umm.  No.  Productivity goes up with age.  If people keep up with their field, and many do, they are wiser than the kids.  The "High cost of social programs" is fiction promulgated by the greedy.  Those miniscuell pensions  looked generous when offered.  This is pure sophistry from the right even if the author believes it.

When a Pirate Is the Voice of Chivalry
In a campaign season known for flashes of misogyny, chivalry is coming from an unexpected quarter: a rebellious Rolling Stone.
Who would have thought Maureen Dowd had a soft spot for the Stones.

James T. Kloppenberg Discusses His ‘Reading Obama’
The historian James T. Kloppenberg has written a book about Barack Obama, whom he sees as a rare breed in America, a kind of philosopher president.
Good policy seems to keep winning.  We know the man works.  I try to believe it is for the good. My feeling is that a hard fight is very satisfying but I would far rather see a win when I look at the record. I will vote for him again, given the chance.  I will not vote for this crew that call themselves Republicans.  The Times Could very easily be seeing a "Dewey" campaign.

Sisters and Happiness: Understanding the Connection
“The key to why having sisters makes people happier — men as well as women — may lie not in the kind of talk they exchange but in the fact of talk.”
Let us have more talk.  I will rattle on at length but I would rather Respond and question than originate from the whole cloth.  Modification is far easier than creation.  Some things are so profoundly wrong that modification is not possible. These must be replaced. Piecewise replacement can happen.

I love you     I miss you.   I want to be with you.  I want you to get enough sleep.
