I think we are hearing lots of political wrangling. I would like to see a report of the chemistry of of this sludge. It sounds like iron stained lime paste. Plough it in and put some compost on the fields limestone is one of the things one puts on the fields. The carbon dioxide in the air will neutralize it very soon.
