    Fear and Favor
Media moguls have often promoted politicians who would serve their interests. But at Fox News, it isn’t stopping there.
Paul Krugman would get out of this corner if it were not such a large part of the general problem.

Cyberwar Chief Calls for Secure Computer Network
“Cyberwar Chief Calls for Secure Computer Network - http://nyti.ms/9MyItw”
I think it exists.  Intranets.  I am thinking about attacks on the backbone.  They are not real easy.  It is built to resist an EMP. The only thing that leaps to mind is a feedback denial of services. The packets would be identical or have a modest cycle. A tag on the packet wrapper  That would not be received at the final destination would make such a loop supressable.  It is probably already there. A pair of sacrificial computers? That would require a manual override. in the switch.  Again it is extant.
This office looks to be without purpose.

Going to the Bar, Pistol in Pocket, Is Legal in 4 States
Gun rights advocates applauded Tennessee and three other states that recently enacted laws allowing loaded guns in bars.

Fewer fools.  I do not want to be among them.

    Third Party Rising
There’s a revolution brewing in the country. Could a third party be coming to challenge the Democrats and Republicans in 2012?
Not bloody likely.  Suppressing legislation should show up in the lame duck session.

Suicides Put Light on Pressures of Gay Teenagers
The case of Tyler Clementi is one of several recent suicides by young gay men who were harassed.
Push "It gets better".  We could point to the RC policy on such.

It will have no effect on Pakistan, an armed camp that has persisted.

Hati has become its own worst enemy.  Population pressure is collapsing it from a failed state to an anarchy.  Indirect predation is under way.  That may be followed by direct predation as hunger becomes more dominant.

Companies Borrow at Low Rates, but Don’t Spend
As many households and small businesses are denied loans, some big corporations are saving, not investing, vast sums they borrowed for next to nothing through a policy meant to help the economy.

This is the song of a deflationary cycle. This viscous little round continues through collapse into a dark age. The exit is inflation that taxes hoarded wealth.  The already wealthy will not tolerate that.

The film about Facebook’s founder, Mark Zuckerberg, can be viewed as a cautionary tale or something to applaud.

Singapore Math Adopted in More U.S. Schools
        “Singapore Math Adopted in More U.S. Schools - http://nyti.ms/aup8vJ • #edchat • #blacked • #latinoed • #educationnation”
This is the curriculum  fight. "If it is not from here it must be better."  Just teach the subject at the proper times.  None of it is hard. It builds on itself but that can come much later. It starts with numbers, passes through accountancy, modelling and about there it is joined by geometry and it snowballs from there.
The smart kids have learned math for a long time.  We need to teach the near smart.

The Very Useful Idiocy of Christine O’Donnell
O’Donnell’s timely ascent in the election season’s final lap may well prove a godsend for the G.O.P.
The opening sentence says it all.
ALL it took was some 30,000 Republican primary voters in a tiny state to turn Christine O’Donnell into the brightest all-American media meteor since Balloon Boy.
