    The Focus Hocus-Pocus
Just what do people mean when they say Obama overreached by focusing on health care and not job creation?
I don't know what he has been thinking about. I am quite certain that he has been thinking.  If it is not soon apparent where his thoughts have been we will all be up the creek.

How Obama Saved Capitalism and Lost the Midterms
The money men had little constituency and have less.  If this is where his mind has been we are in Hell and are here for the duration - at least ten years and likely many more.  We will not run out of oil.  That might be preferable.

High-Risk Insurance Pools Draw Fewer Takers Than Projected
“High-Risk Insurance Pools Draw Fewer Takers Than Projected - http://nyti.ms/dpBPMQ”
If you are diagnosed with a real pre-existing condition your insurance has been cancelled and  and you are deep in bankruptcy.  The sufferer is destitute. Why and how are they to take on another expense to make their creditors whole?  Their debts will be discharged by the courts When that has happened, If they can get some income There may be a court supervised repayment plan. if there is money for insurance payments, well and good. If not, better. The living allowance will be neither bigger or smaller. The health care system is out of luck.  There is no reason to strain for insurance to protect assets not yours.  Theft? By whom?

Online Learning Is Growing on Campus
Online education is finding its way into more colleges, many of them public institutions facing tight budgets.
My difficulty with such things is staying focused.  Class rooms help but not so much as a brilliant lecturer engaging the audience.

Olbermann Suspended From MSNBC for Campaign Donations
Keith Olbermann, the top anchor on MSNBC, was suspended on Friday after the channel discovered that he had made campaign contributions to three Democrats.
This is NBC's problem.  Management needs to realize that Kieth Olberman
is editorial talent, not news talent, as such he must hold and back personal opinions. If NBC cannot live with that, they cannot employ him.  I wish him great success and will view him wherever he finds an audience.

    Sonia Sotomayor's Last Laugh
    Linda Greenhouse does splendid work.
Sonia Sotomayor has triumphed over her detractors.  She is now working and too occupied to help us enjoy their discomfiture.

“How Obama Saved Capitalism and Lost the Midterms - http://nyti.ms/by1SUI”
This may be a rather nasty piece of backstabbing.  The Tarp program and Detroit bankruptcies which depend from it are products of the Bush administration continued by the transition team.  They are or may be a Trojan  horse to place the utter collapse of the financial system on the Democrats.  If the Republicans have been so clever the only possible play is to extend them into the next administration and to make that a Republican one.  Karl Rove may be a mad genius but is he that devious?   I play Go badly.  What does he play?  Nuclear war?
I hope I am having a paranoid fantasy.

      “Frugal Portland - http://nyti.ms/9OulO4”
I like Portland.  My older brother lives and is a power there.  The city is as far wast as a port in the Pacific North West can be and have bearable weather all year.  Astoria might as well be in the Aleutians.
The local row boats have pilot houses.

If anything, it has succeeded too well.

Nutrition and the School Lunch Line
“Nutrition and the School Lunch Line - http://nyti.ms/aaoAwi”

Healthy it is.   Interesting and varied.  Mostly vegetables.
I will try to keep it local.  The whole edible portion of the farmers market.  The compost may do well for a time.  I will ask when it is time for pizza. Anchovy improves the sauce.  Are you brave to bread starter?  Meat stock?  Small quantities of cream and butter?  Grass fed.  Cheeses.
      Talk,  I get lazy.
Mother does not remember the day before.
