The End of the Tunnel
American politics these days is anything but rational. Example: Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey just canceled the Hudson River tunnel project.
And he may have uncanceled it under pressure. I think I count six passenger rail tunnels. The freight tunnel is still a dream. -

Yes, this is an injustice. There must be some kind of sunset for background searches. I do not know how to do that in a world that believes in sin. When does original sin sunset?

Make Wall Street Risk It All
If this proposition were carried out, Every firm would Pay off its executives and declare bankruptcy immediately. The shield of limited liability and moral hazard would be gone and none would stay for the collapse. The price of gold would kite higher before the currency spiralled to nothing.

Picture Books Languish as Parents Push ‘Big-Kid Books’
“I though a picture was worth 1,000 words. This is sad. Picture Books Languish as Parents Push ‘Big-Kid Books’ - http://nyti.ms/ckdvZT”
I think this market is looking at a misunderstanding in all sectors. The picture book fills the comfort and assurance hole between weaning and full language. Full language can and often does come before literacy and numeracy. I would place full language at the development stage where explanations and stories stick. WhereThe world gets bigger than food, love, comfort and sleep. For many stories start here in words and go to longer stories with literacy. For others literacy is already in place and they go directly to literature. For some literate fluency never comes. These go to graphic novels, Marvel comics, film and video. As you should know, the potion that go directly to literature is small.
