Another Inside Job
More from the abusive bankers and their political friends. The best advice is for home-owners in financial difficulty to strategically default. If the house is beyond their means, stop paying and let the bank and the bond holders take the loss. The cash will buy a shelter or a month to month rental until it will buy what is required. -

Emergency Cooling Effort Failing at Japanese Reactor, Deepening Crisis
Emergency operations to pump seawater into one crippled reactor failed at least temporarily, increasing the risk of an uncontrolled release of radioactive material.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SievertsI think this is the kind of dose one gets by standing next to a granite boulder. -

Let There Be More Efficient Light
“Let There Be More Efficient Light - http://nyti.ms/fFA2wk”There has to be more slack in the system. Aesthetics play an important role in how we live. The light over the sink can be highly efficient but the colour should be under user control. Candles on the table are allowed as are incandescents in the bed room. Open fires must be permitted as well as central heat and electric heat. The way we live is a choice in so far as economics allow. Global warming must be included in the cost of our choices. The cost of gas is exceeded by the cost of oil which is modest in comparison to coal.

Move to Limit ‘Factory Farms’ Gains Momentum
Farmers in Ohio agreed to phase out tight confinement of livestock, underscoring the clout of the animal welfare movement. There is an old story about a young county agent. He was visiting an old farmer in his district and carrying on about new developments in seed feed and cultivation. Finally the farmer turned to him and said: Son, I don't farm now half so well as I know how. The agent looked at the neat and prosperous steading and took his leave.Prophylactic antibiotics are really bad practice and must be stopped. That will end most of the practices that are objected to.Milk requires calves. A surplus calf is veal. We can live with younger veal calves.

Quake Alters Earth’s Balance and Widens Japan
The unbuckling of two tectonic plates shifted Japan’s coastline by up to 13 feet, and a 250-mile-long section dropped in altitude by about two feet.Faster than global warming.
