Live Blogging the iPad 2 Announcement
Plenty of tech pundits are calling 2011 the year of the tablet. Apple is hoping to make it the year of the iPad. The company has summoned reporters to an event in San Francisco on Wednesday, where it is widely expected to unveil a new version of i...
It looks like the Samsung Galaxy is still the winner for me.

We can end them and rebuild.
The problem is regulatory capture again.

Natalie Portman, Oscar Winner, Was Also a Precocious Scientist
Natalie Portman is one of a handful of stars who have serious scientific credentials.
I have no problem with smart women.
They are much more fun to be with.

How to Lose a Country Gracefully
Today’s imperiled dictators could learn quite a bit from Mikhail Gorbachev and F.W. de Klerk.
Losing is not their object.  Joseph Stalin is the mentor for them. Lenin was too idealistic.

Union Salaries Aren’t Busting State Budgets
The real problem with most union contracts for public workers is not the money — it’s almost everything else.
    http://krugman.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/02/25/the-contribution-scam/?src=tp
"The solution today is not to cut both the pay and the benefits of public workers, as would happen if workers in Wisconsin, Ohio and elsewhere lost their right to bargain. Remember, public workers don’t get especially generous salaries. The solution is to get rid of the deferred benefits that make no sense — the wasteful health plans, the pensions that start at age 55 and still let retirees draw a full salary elsewhere, the definitions of disability that treat herniated discs as incurable."
These are paid for out of salary. That the states decided to self insure is the politicians problem. The politicians should suffer for it.

A Deluge by NBC to Promote Leno’s New Show
“NYT: A Deluge by NBC to Promote Leno’s New Show - http://bit.ly/2q9kOu”
Ultimately the effort did not work.  Leno is back at 11:00 pm. on NBC.
Public radio seems to have broken the Sarnoff monopoly on congressional attention. Social media pundits should beware.

John Galliano Fired by Dior After Video Rant
Troubled by the actions of its star designer, Christian Dior acted quickly and decisively in an effort to limit any long-term damage to the brand.

This is two different incidents and probably not unique.
    Galliano should have known better.
It may turn out to be a conspiracy.
He obviously did not appreciate his fans.
