The old industries are gone.  They will not return.
Here we have a producer who finds he can work without a support industry and very nearly without a studio.  I see no need for growth here.

“Wedding-Driven Markets - http://nyti.ms/gY5Gwy I wonder how excitement about this wedding compares to past UK royal weddings”
After Charles adventures, The palace and the court have been told to back off.  William is getting the timing right.  I would bet on a county wedding.

In Beebe, Ark., 5,000 Dead Blackbirds Drop From the Sky
Scientists are trying to determine why, on New Year’s Eve, red-winged blackbirds rained on Beebe, Ark.
Blunt force trauma seems to be the consensus. They flew into things in the dark.

Lack of Jobs in Southern Europe Frustrates the Young
“Lack of Jobs in Southern Europe Frustrates the Young - http://nyti.ms/fQbhGM”
There is never a lack of work to be done.  There is a lack of income.
This says to me that there are barriers to employers.  This lawyer should hang her shingle and take whatever work comes through the door.  Consult and spend time on cases that either will pay on contingency or can pay at least expenses. There will be time to do the interesting part before the cash starts to flow and when the income is sufficient.  Tax law is worth knowing.
Liberal arts does not  get a trade.  Get a trade.  Owning slaves is not available.

Lack of Jobs in Southern Europe Frustrates the Young
“Experts warn of volatility in state finances and the broader society as the most highly educated generation in the history of the Mediterranean hits one of its worst job markets.”
There might be a causal relation to that.
These people need new jobs. The older generation will vacate in time. It does not need to be thrown from the train.  The kids need to build for themselves.

States Seek Laws to Curb Power of Unions
As state officials try to plug budget shortfalls, many are looking at legislation to scale back the power of labor unions, especially those that represent state workers.
"“They’re throwing the kitchen sink at us,” said Randi Weingarten, president of the American Federation of Teachers. “We’re seeing people use the budget crisis to make every attempt to roll back workers’ voices and any ability of workers to join collectively in any way whatsoever.”"

I like the idea of renting studio space. I would be very willing to do it.
I would rather not rent to a food service or prep business. I do not want to rent residential space.  Keeping things simple and paid for is the immediate objective.

    Tolstoy Remains Snubbed in Russia
Efforts to repair Tolstoy’s mixed reputation in Russia go unrewarded, as the Russian Orthodox Church revisits his century-old transgressions.
I have never read him.   It took the RCs 500 years to forgive Galileo.

“Great chart from NY TImes re long term equity returns. http://nyti.ms/fIXrev”It is about time such a thing was created. Every portfolio is a bit different.  I think I am doing OK at the moment.  My account is about 3x its initial value.  I know very well that it is just luck. I will consult my broker on exit timing and strategy.
