Women Who Work: Struggling to Provide
“The Times's Adam B. Ellick examines the rise of lower-class women working service jobs in Pakistan video - http://nyti.ms/eoqbD5”
The sequestration of women is a Persian innovation in Islam.  There is no mention of it in the Koran I am told.
I know you have to work.
      I admire your work.
It must be done and you should do it.

Bloodshed Puts Focus on Vitriol in Politics
The shooting of Representative Gabrielle Giffords focused attention on the degree to which inflammatory language has become a steady undercurrent in the nation’s political culture.
    Yuck.
A very careful attempt to disassociate the revolting right from the shooter.
War drums are very exciting.  He ends it thus:

“While we need to take a moment to extend our sympathies to the families of those who died, we cannot allow the hard left to do what it tried to do in 1995 after the Oklahoma City bombing,” he wrote. “Within the entire political spectrum, there are extremists, both on the left and the right. Violence of this nature should be decried by everyone and not used for political gain.”

“A fresh angle: The economy's effects on psychics: Psychic Rewards - http://nyti.ms/gNP98a”
I make no claim of psychic knowledge.
I read the news and a few real left of centre websites.  I try to think.
I have no professional repute to defend so I try to predict.
I care about you so I put my thoughts on the blog.
I am very tired of saying I guess and its variations so I leave that as implied.
I try to give sources when I can.  I know people who are sure they are Psychic who are no more insane than most.  Precognition does not look to be real.

The End of an Era of Intolerance, or Just the Beginning
It’s hard not to think the shooting in Arizona was at least partly influenced by a debate that often seems to conflate philosophical disagreement with some kind of political Armageddon.
From the politicians quoted and the framing of the quotes this is another fan of the Civil War who would like to replay it.

For Law School Graduates, Debts if Not Job Offers
Law schools’ rosy statistics say most graduates are working. The problem is, many aren’t working as lawyers, or making enough to pay back their student loans.
They can garnishee his wages if he ever gets a decent job.  If we get the monster inflation that the Republican party seems to want, paying off the debt will be easy. A scheme of dubious propriety is to pay off the student debt with another loan and default on the second loan. The unsecured nature of the second loan (Granted, a difficult thing since '06) would allow the debt to be discharged in court.   Are there not programs that defer or discharge tuition debt for public service? I think getting the dunning agencies  to sit down and shut up might well be worth a decade with the public defender.  Criminal defence should pay reasonably to the successful. The desperate will pay for mere competence.
It appears that Law School is just another trap for the unwary.

It is a bit further north but March should be good.  The river will be very cold.  These places need cool weather and the spring melt.       We could go to the big impoundments, Powell and Mead.  They are very large and the access for power boats is limited.  There should be wonderful places toward the heads of the lakes and in the side canyons.
"It will be fun . . ."   Lets talk before I get into trouble.  Hotels are good while we are learning.

Cars or wild shrimp is not a real choice. I will take the shrimp. Most of the country will take the car.  Most of the red states have never tasted a wild shrimp.  We could trade the shrimp for oil but then the lease holders would not get that money now.

I doubt he acted alone.  He will not be allowed the McNaughten Rule.
We have accused Obama  of "bringing a knife to a gun fight" for two years. He can invert it and bring a gun to a knife fight.  I, for one, think he should.  I really think he should stand off at a distance and drop them with a rifle.  Not sporting but this is our lives.  He has no need to go in with a boar spear.
