MTV clearly erred when it decided that conjuring a show out of semi-nude teenagers would be harmless fun.

      Goddard Furniture Lifts Americana Sales

Silly people.  There is no such thing as a lost art.  The wood is getting a bit expensive.  The dealers have not had a market for crotch wood for a century and a half.  I may have to go and get it.  Haitian mahogany was a wood of choice. It has all gone for charcoal. The subspecies exists in Dominica. If sufficient control could be exerted, it could be plantation grown. Yield in a century or so. Cabinetry could be a trade for the great grandchildren of today's babies. In the meantime,  imports.  Cuban mahogany is also fondly remembered and admired in museums.

China Grooms Hu Jintao’s Successor, Xi Jinping
Following a succession plan laid out years ago, President Hu Jintao will pass the baton to his presumed successor, Xi Jinping, now China’s vice president.
They will need that deft politician.  He is the inheritor of all the pain of this and previous regimes. Somehow he must break with the near past, what is now the present. It would be the Chinese way for him to declaire himself  Emperor and re-formalize the Mandarinate.
I don't know how he could institute liberty and stay in office.
We are having a tough time doing that and we are not starting from zero.
