Digital Textbooks Slow to Catch On
“I get it. Hard for me to study or research from digital books. Digital Textbooks Slow to Catch On - http://nyti.ms/muWl4p”
It is really hard to make money from a digital text.
If the students learn to use them they may learn all kinds of things that their school boards do not approve of.
They will learn to research and to read critically.

    Your Tweetin’ Heart
Noble wedding vows hold “till death do you part,” but naughty tweets last forever.
    Just noise.

Showing Gay Teens a Happy Future
A new online video channel is reaching out to teenagers who are bullied at school for being gay. The message: life really does get better after high school.
      Sooner is better. - - - - - - -  As soon as you can is best.

For African-Americans, ‘Going Natural’ Can Require Help
Tired of chemically treated hair, and of visits to salons, many African-American women are turning to YouTube to pick up tips and advice on products.
Good luck to them.  There is lots of advice.  Most of it is send money.
This seems to be the best of it: NaturalChica.com,

Banks Defeated in Senate Vote Over Debit Card Fees
The Senate rejected a delay on regulations over debit card fees, essentially leaving it to the Federal Reserve to limit the fees that stores pay banks.
A decent result from a very bad process.  Money speaks very loudly.

Brain Calisthenics Help Break Down Abstract Ideas, Researchers Say
Traditional classroom learning is generally rules first, application later. However, researchers are finding that repeated exposure to patterns seems to deepen understanding.
There is no "royal road" to knowledge with understanding.  We build it with constant effort.

      Cloning Redwoods
“Serving arborealness!!! Cloning Redwoods - http://nyti.ms/gH2nhz”
It is easy to clone the trees.  It is conditions rather than genetics that grow the giants.  The ones we have are fossils and should be treated as the treasures they are.  There has been a sustainable cut
for the last hundred years.  The ownership of those stands changed twenty years ago in favour of cash now.  Logging has become a political battle.  Park closure is just part of it.
