‘Force of Nature’ Examines How Wal-Mart Went Green - Review
“‘Force of Nature’ Examines How Wal-Mart Went Green - Review - http://nyti.ms/iXOypS”

"At the time Mr. Ellison walked into Mr. Scott’s office, the company was being pummeled by a multitude of opponents, from environmentalists to entire city governments, accusing it of driving mom-and-pop retailers out of business, underpaying its “associates” and union-busting. Going green has given Wal-Mart a badly needed public-relations boost as it continues to face harsh criticism on those other fronts."
The other fronts matter to me.
Business done in China pays Chinese.
That money should come from Chinese. It does not.
      This is the ultimate unsustainability.

      Pay the Chinese in food.
"He doesn’t deify or demonize Wal-Mart or any of the characters; in fact, he says Wal-Mart’s very business model is probably unsustainable."

The Junta in Egypt changed its face.  A small price to pay for survival.
The disorders may be centrally planned.  Riots are a wonderful reason to repressive governments.

      A Ruthian Mystery
The grainy footage shows Babe Ruth playing at Yankee Stadium. But just about everything else is uncertain: the opponent, the day and year of the game, even the circumstances. Was it opening day? Was it the World Series? Something in between?
Solved.   Look at the pictures.  Look at the schedule.  What gets a summer game played in late afternoon conditions before stadium lighting?  A double header.  There were two in 1928 that it could be.

Full stands, hot weather.  16mm was always expensive.  Late innings.
I could look at the reporting.

Huge Profits for Health Insurers as Americans Put Off Care
Companies continue to press for higher premiums, saying they need protection against any sudden uptick in demand once people have more money to spend on their health.
The companies are getting one more pay day before regulation.

“US Questions if oil companies really need subsidies and Tax Breaks http://nyti.ms/jt3IIg #CdnPoli #CanPoli”

The local production siren song is pure propaganda.  The result of more drilling now would be more money for established interests now.
Money now has always been worth more than more money later.
