      The Audacity of ‘Precious’
“The Audacity of ‘Precious’ - http://bit.ly/mOutT [Didn't want to see this movie until reading this terrific article about the director.”
I don't want to see this film.  I don't know the director.  I don't want to deal with the cast in or out of role. I have met the type of the director / producer.  I can deal with them.  I don't like it.  He has earned everything he has and is.  He is welcome to be and do it.
Adding this set of details will not improve my world view.
The more I learned of Baudelire the less I wanted to learn more.

Peace Corps Volunteers Speak Out on Rape

This is the religious war we are involved in.
The assignment people need to work harder. Probably they should deal with the early returning volunteers.  The diplomatic service must know where there will be problems.

Can Eating Local Honey Cure Allergies?
“Can Eating Local Honey Cure Allergies? - No, but it tastes good. http://nyti.ms/lJGv3e”
It is still sugar and not much else.  The physical chemistry might be interesting.  Allergies I have to leave to the experts.

The propensity to accentuate the positive is what the sales department gets paid for.  They are more enthusiastic than the facts support.  The regulators can't say no until sales tries.

The children are not going to give up text.
Use it or lose them.  Public speaking will have to become a separate subject.

There may be a diplomatic problem here.  I doubt that there will be a fuss in public but a stiff note on extraterritoriality may well be received by the state department.  If the case was weak he would be in France.

The Poor Quality of an Undergraduate Education
New research questions how much you really learn in college.

What is being seen is the capture of the administration by the bursar's office.  The profitable operation of the business of education outweighs the mission of supporting the growth of learning with teaching. The parasitic  business of extracting money from ambitious parents and their offspring has overwhelmed the institutional mission of forming minds to guide society and its institutions.
This is an instance where the "magic of the marketplace" can work.  Advertise success rates of graduates and triumph. The entire sample is graduates.  The desired statistic is percentage of graduates successful in
Their field of study if under grad was terminal or in the field of their graduate work or other dependent employment.  Are the graduates of the institution the persons they were intending to be at graduation.  Did the investment in this institutions process pay off for the investor?  It should show on a twenty year delay.

Seven Tips to Better Landscape Photos
“Seven Tips to Better Landscape Photos - http://nyti.ms/k5LOEo”
This is about as much as can be told of the craft.  I need to fit filters again.  I keep trying to ignore them.  The colour of the light is important if colour is going to be part of the result.
