We are engaged in a long, cold and not very civil war.
I would rather the children did not resort to guns or butter.
Money for the poor will win this.

Technology Provides an Alternative to Love.

"When you stay in your room and rage or sneer or shrug your shoulders, as I did for many years, the world and its problems are impossibly daunting. But when you go out and put yourself in real relation to real people, or even just real animals, there’s a very real danger that you might love some of them."
A closer modelling of reality than many.

Modern Love: What Is Carved in Stone
A season among the petroglyphs makes a young man reconsider all those love-related text messages.
I would like to know more about the petroglyphs.
There is much that can be learned by looking.
      As for the messages . . .
The content is easy and mostly, by intention, speaks of the writer.
Forming a live linkage is the hard part.
I don't have to climb the wall of a desert canyon but the attention required is in short supply.  It is my pleasure to find it.

      Let Kids Rule the School
“Must Read: Let Kids Rule the School - http://nyti.ms/eSyBFo Students as authors of their own ed. #edreform #whataconcept #edchat”
"Their guidance counselor was their adviser, consulting with them when the group flagged in energy or encountered an obstacle. Though they sought advice from English, math and science teachers, they were responsible for monitoring one another’s work and giving one another feedback. There were no grades, but at the end of the semester, the students wrote evaluations of their classmates."

      Interesting it is.
I would like a few footnotes please.
      Some checkable statistics would help.

Technology Provides an Alternative to Love.
Our infatuation with technology encourages shallow self-reflection, and liking, rather than the harder work of loving.

I think the author has the causal chain wrong.
The driving narcissism is at the bottom of it.  Social networking merely enables that self worship in a newish way. Think of movie fan magazines.
The technology of communications is invisible to its users.
    Pogue's tips demonstrate that.

No, a very reasonable verdict.  If there had been some physical evidence and a real desire to convict it would be a bad verdict.
The jury came back with guilty but not sufficiently proven.

There is no alternative or substitute.
Almost is not the condition itself.
