Showing Gay Teens a Happy Future
A new online video channel is reaching out to teenagers who are bullied at school for being gay. The message: life really does get better after high school.
This is the assurance that I have been looking for.
With regular application, I can hang on for the duration.
A target date would be very useful. If not a date, an end/ start condition.

Malcolm X Biographer Dies on Eve of a Revealing Work
Manning Marable worked for two decades on a re-evaluation of Malcolm X’s life that is said to contain many revelations.
Reviews at publication will tell me all about it.  He will not be there to defend his conclusions.

Weighing the corn and the grease are pretty easy things to do. Know the weight of the bucket. weigh the corn, weight the greased corn. multiply by the appropriate coefficients. salt last.  close enough and large enough to shock.

I would like to do good things at small scale and to be out of the avalanche path.  Methane carburettors and cryogenic storage for that fuel.  It does not have to be fossil but it can be. Methane hydrate generation anyone?

Far better to lift the liability from the drivers and place it on the kids.
In bicycle-auto accidents, the auto is automatically always at fault. The fault must lie with the scateboarder, not the auto, the city, the landowner.

Afghans Avenge Florida Koran Burning, Killing 12
Thousands of protesters overran the United Nations compound in Mazar-i-Sharif, killing at least 12 people, Afghan and United Nations officials said.
We really do need to re-engineer Islam.  Put the Koran on out as a digital file With as much Scholarship as we can  find.  There are several edits and reorderings to work with.  Good schollarly translations into the various vernaculars will also put the cat among the pigeons.  The work should be done in India if that can be managed.  America should maintain plausible deniability.  South Asia should explode in about two years. The fight will be internal.  Get them asking  "What is truth" rather than who is the unbeliever.

Job Growth Alters Playbook for Obama and His Critics
As the unemployment rate ticked down, the hopes of Democrats ticked up: perhaps by the 2012 election they could claim vindication for their stimulus policies.

    Here speaks the Republican cabal.
The effects of the stimulus program are at an end.
    There will be no more.
The coming relapse must be attached to the Republican's intransigence.

Pastor Who Burned Koran Demands Retribution for U.N. Deaths
Terry Jones said the United States and United Nations must take “immediate action” in retaliation for the 12 killings by an Afghan mob protesting his actions.
There must be measures we can take. Terry Jones is a danger to himself and to others.  There are institutions for his like.

    Erasing Individual’s Digital Past
People who are unhappy with unflattering information and images that pop up when others Google them are increasingly hiring online reputation managers to help recast their Web profiles.
It looks to be a real service. Try a few of them by asking what they would charge.  You look pretty clean to me.  The easiest and cheapest is to never post things you could regret or to not post them under your working name.

More Physicians Say No to Endless Workdays
Many physicians prefer predictable hours that allow for family time, a change that is transforming the way patients get care.
Sounds like a rational evolution to me.  There is little point in heroics.
They are usually the result from others bad planning.

Regulator Says Radioactive Water Leaking Into Ocean From Japanese Nuclear Plant
Japan’s nuclear regulator said Saturday there was a crack in a damaged pit that lies between the No. 2 Reactor of the Fukushima Daichi nuclear plant and the sea.
Pump the tainted water into a tanker and send it to France. They want the stuff.
Useful hand controls so steam pressure can be maintained in an emergency.
There is no such thing as a rapid cold shutdown.  The thing is a power plant.  There is just no excuse for sudden loss of steam pressure.  With steam there is the possibility of control during a system collapse.

A System That Encourages Small Businesses Not to Hire Older Workers
“A System That Encourages Small Businesses Not to Hire Older Workers - http://nyti.ms/eLFzMs”
The health insurers we have are very greedy. They understand spreading the risk over a population and reject it. There theory is that the risk should be spread over time. An existing condition under that theory is just a cost and should bear the cost and a profit for the service of cashing a check and writing a smaller one.
