The Prosecution Rests, but I Can’t
Why no penalty for those who put an innocent man on death row?
Because they are elected and acting in"good faith".  Some things are egregious. The next election in NOLA must be papered with this story.
They are outnumbered. Out of office, they can be made miserable.

Public Broadcasting Faces Threat in Federal Budget
An NPR executive called Republicans’ budget fight this year “the most determined, organized and sophisticated challenge to federal funding for public radio — ever.”
      Yes.
These are the death throes of the Republican party.  It is trying to destroy its enemies before it loses all legitimacy.  Let it go and then block these despicable slanders that are passing as "serious".

Dependent on Prescription Drugs, Even Before Birth
Growing numbers of newborns across the country are struggling with addiction as prescription drug abuse ravages communities.

We have gone around this block several times.  There is information to be had.  I do not want it to be my job to do the literature search and to try to extract medical knowledge from the blizzard of propaganda.  The crack babies were not the disaster they were advertised as. There have been heroine babies at least as long as the drug has existed. Morphine babies a bit longer.  Opium babies were much more prevalent once than they are now.  Meth babies must have started with the drug and be a regular feature.  I can interview my sister in law either by phone or when I next see her.  They were in for a visit the last two days.  The British Medical service in India would have generated an archive.  There should be another at Columbia.  There will be more recent documentation in Germany.  Portugal is probably surprisingly knowledgeable.  The Dutch, Swiss, French and British will have current documents.  Current data could be gathered in Columbia and Mexico.
Canada can probably report current experience. The US data is probably very corrupt.  This is a masters thesis in social work or nursing.  I doubt a student in OB Gyn could touch it.  Same with pharmacology.

Book Review - SuperCooperators - By Martin A. Nowak
“Go on and collaborate! Most of the great evolutionary innovations of life on earth are due to cooperation, a Harvard scientist argues. http://nyti.ms/fKoplx”
I doubt that any orthodoxy will displace another.
Competition and cooperation exist together, even in the same situation and individual.  War is as good a way as any to spread an idea.

The State has absolutely no need to cheat at trial. This was misconduct for gain.  We should be able to impeach the majority on this case.  Where is the ACLU?  Why does congress sit silent?

From Ancient Trees, Finding New Life to Save Earth
A plan hatched by tree enthusiasts hopes to clone and mass-produce colossal redwoods, the tallest living things on earth.
Without dreams, there would be no future.  The forests may have a chance if the construction boom can be kept from restarting.  I like to be a visitor to the woods.  Living there year in year out was a dream of mine that died.
Sustainable cut is a better way to have wood.  A managed woods does not make the owner rich. Better for it to be park this century.
The prevalence of good genes is much greater in a population of the healthy old.  we have been spreading seeds and seedlings since the trees were found.  They don't look like the giants until the mature at about 500.
This project has some waiting to do.  Douglas fir and Sitka Spruce are a faster vault. Marine Algae are probably the best bet but not so much fun.
High latitude peat is probably where the money should go.
