      Patient 1, Society 0
“Medical costs: Patient 1, Society 0 - http://nyti.ms/fhY3F8 - the comments are intereting...”
It is not clear to me who paid. If the patient paid only he lost.
If the hospital paid it had to be because the patient was indigent.
If the insurance company paid, The cost was paid by the patient over time.  The statistic will help to destroy the insurance company.

Geoff Vuleta Says 100-Day Plans Build Consistency
“Brilliant thinking from Geoff Vuleta, CEO of Fahrenheit 212 on leadership, consistency and team motivation: http://nyti.ms/b47JdH”

This looks to me like a good way to manage a creative company.

I am good at and my time is more than filled by the things I am doing now. I will make changes when you tell me it is time to make them.
I have been preparing the ground so those changes will not be shocking to my siblings.  I will require a short lead time to wind up matters here and then about ten days to travel there.  Shortly thereafter I want to rent or lease or buy a truck and move a modest truckload of stuff there.  It is my intention to sell that truck after the one trip or return it to its owner. Decisions on that can wait. I will start a passport in the next few days.  I do not intend to put a rush on it.  100 days seems a reasonable period to concrete notice.  I can make good use of it.   I believe a passport takes 90 days from the submission of the completed materials.

Flash Sales Offer Deep Discounts on Wine
Flash sales on wine, in which bottles are sold at steep discounts for just a day or two, now account for about 25 percent of the overall online wine market.
A buyers market. How much do you want to stock? I have no great knowledge.  I expect the prices will continue to fall.

Wise for Some Restaurants, Coupons Are a Drain at Others
      “Wise for Some Restaurants, Coupons Are a Drain at Others http://nyti.ms/gaXbd1 #dining #deal #groupon #villagevines ”
Coupons can't outdraw low prices and great food. Prices can rise to the point that the place only stays full. If the place cannot be filled with with the lowest possible price the food is not in demand or the location is bad.  fixing the food is cheaper than moving.

Cisco Shuts Down Flip, Its Video Camera Unit
The camera had been a great hardware start-up success, but it lost traction as the smartphone came on the scene.
Putting a phone chip in the unit would have been an easy fix. Why not is a mystery to me.

Ex-Mafia Boss, Joseph C. Massino, Testifies in U.S. Court
Joseph C. Massino, the first American Mafia chief to defect to the federal authorities, made his debut on the witness stand at a Brooklyn murder trial.
He is still trying to manipulate the courts.  He has had some success.
If he were actually selling his current associates he would be dead.
Look again in a few months.
