      The Responsibility Deficit

The tea party is getting exactly what they say they want or so it seems at the moment.

    Why Pay Congress?
As we face a government shutdown, one group of federal employees is expected to keep getting paid: the members of Congress who are causing this mess.
They will be paid. If the nation does not do it others will.
We will not have the opportunity to fire them for another year and a half.
Let us remember who it is we must fire and why.

The Republican party wants now to destroy the federal government and with it the Union.  They must achieve none of their goals.
The Confederacy was destroyed for good reason.

Publish the whole damn thing as the author left it or burn it and move on.
An editor should not take authorial credit on a work of fiction.

Q&A: Susan Roy on Cold War Housekeeping
“Terrific New York Times Q&A w. my beloved Susan Roy on "Bomboozled," her just-published history of fallout shelters http://nyti.ms/hMMXfE”
      She is a true believer.
People who know have pointed out that a bomb is much cleaner than a burning old reactor. the fission products never get a chance to build up.  The words are "high burnup".  As the Nevada site shows a few bombs don't have much impact beyond the walking dead.
I think that nuclear weapons are useless militarily but very handy politically.

Mayor Katsunobu Sakurai issued a plea on YouTube for the world to help his city. He was not prepared for the response.
There are many who have real understanding of the dangers of radioactives.  Unfortunately they are not the government of Japan.

Food Prices Stir Concern About Biofuels Mandates

We get our choice.  Does the world eat or do we drive?  I am for driving to cost much more so eating can cost less.

Reads as easy.  I will do it if asked.

This is of no import to me.  I see the PBS newshour if I see any television news at all.  I run WNYC in the car and usually have the computers silent.  There is a laptop running vista in the kitchen for the WNYC  AM feed.  I will run the BBC from VPR.net if attention allows.

People will like it.  I might change out the blueray to another machine.  A media nonspecific drive would be more useful.
I would rather see an AMD processor and a very powerful video processor.
I probably will not buy one.
I can do as well at or better at Microcenter or the like.
