Experts say the push to make fuels from crops is contributing to high food prices, hunger and political instability.
Motor fuel must become less of civilization.

Libya Rebels Have Will, but Lack Martial Way
“Follow @cjchivers for reports from Libya. Here's his primer on the rebel who don't add up to an army - http://nyti.ms/hULdHO”
There is no army in Libya. The mercenaries will soon exhaust the treasury and shoot the pay master.  It is endemic with mercenaries.

Moving Ahead on Reducing Nuclear Arms
“New York Times: Moving Ahead on Reducing #Nuclear Arms - http://nyti.ms/grSV3l”
The real problem is chemical.  There is not much U235 in the world.
The easy thing to get is Pu 239 and that is the essential for a bomb.
We really can't go for fission power without plutonium.  I am all for few or no bombs.  If bomb fuel is common, I see no way to prevent their manufacture.

Dust Is Gone Above the Bar, but a Legend Still Dangles
“Dust Is Gone Above the Bar, but a Legend Still Dangles - http://nyti.ms/fVkHam (I was at McSorley's in 2010 for St. Pat's. Lots of history.)”
McSorley's is an institution and a national treasure.  Leave it alone as long as it is not actively poisoning it's patrons.  Making them open a ladies room is plenty of change for the place.

Management must learn that reporters are mostly honest people.
    They are also not ignorant.
