    When Zombies Win
Free-market fundamentalists have been wrong about everything — yet they now dominate the political scene more thoroughly than ever.
It is a courtroom tactic. Never plead guilty. Make them convict you.
They are guilty but the jury is not convinced.

      A Yoga Manifesto All tose
Some new studios are dispensing with the “rock star” instructors.
It can't hurt. It certainly helps. If the spiritual part helps you, why not.
I keep wondering if there is a dog or god as the case may be.

Serious Mental Health Needs Seen Growing at Colleges
Surveys show that nearly half of students who visit counseling centers have serious mental illness.
Stony Brook was enough to depress anyone.  Apparently it still is. Reports are that a new nuisance is Asian students  learning to cook in the housing.
The meal plan is still low bid.  I do not know the map these days.  There should be a freshman course in survival skills. Food prep, hygiene, cleaning, communications, contracts, debt, exercise and laundry. All those things that caregivers did at home.

More Thoughts on the 3,000-Mile Oil Change
“More Thoughts on the 3,000-Mile Oil Change - http://nyti.ms/cpynFK”
3,000 is more often than an engine needs its oil changed.
If the engine runs long enough to spend the majority of its on time at operating temperature, The oil can stay in until it gets disgusting or the filter bypass opens. When that happens it is almost an emergency and time to change the oil and the filter. If the engine spends much of its running time cool, the interval needs to be shorter changing spring and fall is a good rule here.

I have defaulted to "short and even" When it gets shaggy at an inch plus I have it knocked back to 3/8". it looks good most of the time andneeds almost no care.  Shampoo and a pass with the brush while wet.  I will grow it out if you wish.

      Keeping Up With the Commentariat

I find that I am much more interested in what I think of what the columnist has to say than what the readership has to say of what the columnist has to say.

      The Gifts of Hope
      “The Gifts of Hope - http://nyti.ms/ifplUv via @nicholaskristof #gifts #parenting #kindness #compassion #health ”
There was a beggar by the BQE where I got off it for Pratt who found it worth his while to hold up a sign asking for the price of a beer by name. He was there for several months before he disappeared.
I see that Kristoff has a better than usual collection of causes.
I understand and share the impulse. My cash income is very near zero
and the cash I handle is not mine.  I have some capital but the rent on money is very low.  Available time comes in small chunks.  Another time.
