      The Unborn Paradox
Perhaps Mr. Douthat and his lovely bride of three years could squeeze out a few little Douthat's, keep the pick of the litter and auction the B-grade ones off to some of these poor upper-middle class ladies who need a white baby...stat! In fact, with Ross being a Catholic in good standing, we have to wonder why there are no children as of yet. Could the Douthat's be practicing birth control? That's almost like baby killing.
I have yet to find a reason to read Ross Douthat.

New Hacking Tools Pose Bigger Threats to Wi-Fi Users
The dangers of being a hacking victim are growing for smartphone and laptop users at Wi-Fi hot spots, who may not realize that their browsing is being watched.  The 3G or the 4G networks if you are worried.
Far better to not put things you can't loose in public view.

Wisconsin Leads Way as Workers Fight State Cuts
The unrest in Wisconsin this week over Gov. Scott Walker’s plan to cut the bargaining rights and benefits of public workers is spreading to other states.

The economics  of the production puzzle me.  PBS pays them. Is that enough along with the production of the American bureau?

I want to read it.  There are more than two levels of value.  A low city works far better than a high one so far.  The buildings are not big enough.

    In Bahrain, the Bullets Fly
We should signal more clearly that we align ourselves with 21st-century aspirations for freedom rather than the brutality of a medieval ruler.
I just want to leave this alone.

Scientific Groups Call for New Sources of Critical Elements
“Scientific Groups Call for New Sources of Critical Elements - http://nyti.ms/ero0dG #scichat #science”
This story is late to the situation as is usual.
The problem is amenable to market forces.
If the price is allowed to rise sufficiently the supplies are there. Lithium like magnesium can be extracted from sea water. As can most of the rest of these.  The mines for the rare earths have high levels of thorium, a radio-nucleotide not loved at this time.  Money is all that has limited production.

Clashes in Libya Worsen as Army Crushes Dissent
One can suppress a passive resistance revolt if one is willing to kill them all.  It is a bit easier if you let the bulk of the demonstrators run.  The secret police should be busy picking up the leadership and executing them.

      • "The good news is that the dispersant stayed in the deep ocean after it was first applied," Kujawinski added in a statement. "The bad news is that it stayed in the deep ocean and did not degrade."
