Mubarak Leaves Cairo as Crowds Surge
President Hosni Mubarak left for his resort home, Western officials said, as the Egyptian military pledged to carry out a variety of constitutional reforms.
It feels a bit like Colonel Nasser expelling King Farouk.

I am trying to figure out how short the crop will be. At a guess they are all right this year but need to import in about six months. The import
looks to be about 15 mmt, pushing the world surplus.  Many fewer animals will be fed.

The group in charge, the military, has been the power for many years, 60 or more.  These kids need a seat at the table that will write the new constitution.  An effective veto on provisions would reassure me.
