    The War on Women
Republicans in the House of Representatives are mounting an assault on women’s reproductive rights and access to essential health care.
This and the attitude toward children are a piece.  We will see how things shake out.  I would like to join the battle but there seems to be nowhere one more body would help.  I will keep doing and try to stay healthy.

There will be consequences.  If the regime survives the security police will be busy.  I would not be surprised if Iran turns out to be shaking things up.  Where is our diplomatic service?

    The G.O.P.’s Abandoned Babies
The Republicans’ budget exposes their contradictory position on child welfare: “pro-life” before birth, utter indifference afterward.
It is the soul, not the body that is important.

Qaddafi Forces Shooting From Ambulances, Witnesses Say
An increasingly gruesome picture began to emerge Saturday of the violent tactics used to quell protesters in Tripoli, where a tense standoff continued.
He can't break out. There is no one to break the siege  from the outside.
His mercenaries will kill him and go off to other employment.

Again I have not gotten out to shop.
Before I need it you should speak.  I am going to have to summon my siblings and get the care in line.
It would be good to know what subset of tools I should pack.
I will have to inform my various commitments of the change of coasts.

    Shock Doctrine, U.S.A.
Madison, Wis., is looking a lot like Baghdad in 2003, with government officials exploiting fiscal crises for fun and profit.

      Make Everybody Hurt
“David Brooks on making austerity credible: Make Everybody Hurt - http://nyti.ms/gX0W1Q”
"Everybody now seems to agree that Governor Walker was right to ask state workers to pay more for their benefits."  A lie in all respects.
" In Wisconsin and elsewhere, state-union relations are structurally out of whack."     More of the same, Another simple lie.
"That’s because public sector unions and private sector unions are very different creatures. Both are bargaining with their management. No difference.
"So I’d invite Governor Walker and the debt fighters everywhere to think of themselves as founding fathers of austerity."  Why do we need austerity? Brooks thinks it is a good thing for everyone else.

    Absorbing the Pain
At a gathering in Philadelphia this week, the deep pain of working Americans was readily apparent.
It will get deeper for a long time.  The conservatives have the wrong Idea and will not change their position.  They must be removed and that will take six to eight years.  The Obama successor should turn up soon.

Gates Warns Against More Wars Like Iraq and Afghanistan
Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates said that anyone who advises a president to send a large U.S. army to change a third-world regime “should have his head examined.”

New Google Search System Seeks to Weed Out Useless Results
Google’s change is a tacit acknowledgment that an industry devoted to gaming search results had increasingly managed to pollute the search engine by pushing less relevant sites higher.
The war with noise goes on.
