It’s Official: This Is New York’s Hottest Summer
There was no cataclysm that defined the summer, but the average temperature — 77.8 degrees — was a record.
It has not been that bad here. There is the beach. The trees have knocked ten degrees off the highs. My brother stuck a portable in mothers room. It knocks the temperature down for bed time. Cool sea breezes bring the ambient down after midnight and they stay comfortable until about noon. I have not been getting to the city much for the bicycle business. City people are nuts. They have been buying heavily and renting all the summer. It must be the Hudson bike path.
Again it is a rare day that is over ninety here. There are reasons to live out of town near the shore. We are sixty feet up. No storm surge problems. I am watching the hurricanes with deep interest.
