  The Republicans have a great deal riding on the perception that a Republican triumph is inevitable.  The sales job is very powerful.
  We put the Democrats in because they offered some hope. That hope is delayed but still on the table.  The Republicans offer no hope at all. Why do they think they could win?
  
  The half measures we have tried so far have not done the job.  It is time to treat.  We know what the cure is.  The studies are in.  If we do not apply what we know we are committed to decades of disaster.
  
  We need to make things everyone wants at prices everyone can pay.
