  The United States needs to be in a race with China, not just Al Qaeda. Let’s start with electric cars.

  
  

  Thomas starts with a very distorted frame.  

  We  will exit from Afghanistan in two years.

  We are or were the world leader in high efficiency electric motors.

  EGG was sold to Perkin Elmer, probably the company that sold the sequencers, after having been sold a poisoned contract by the AEC/DOE.  EG&G had the last management contract for the Hanford Reservation.  They were the masters or the electric motor.  That division may still exist.

  The Electric car business was intentionally killed in this country in 1922.

  It was killed again in 2001.  The problem of how to keep it dead has persisted.

  American management games the system again.  The toxic battery business takes place in China. The The drive train and body work are province of the closed GM plant in Oakland. Sold to these birds at a fire-sale price with a California subsidy in place.  Charging is stock electronics. It just takes the political will.  Motor control is IRF's main business.
