The Tea Party you’ve read about is just letting off steam. The one you haven’t is still looking for a leader with a real plan for action.Thomas Friedman wants the Republican party to move to the left. That will not happen. The Democratic party also will not move to the left. We may have to find a new label for the left liberal coalition that we need.I think the pain is not enough for that yet.

The audiences do not wan a great experience but rather the same experience someone else thought was great. It suppresses new things for old things spiced with novelty. Adventurous people do not go to Broadway or even Off Broadway. They go to new productions by reputable writers. Really adventurous people go to 'not for profit' halls and leave early. I prefer something that is both good and new. I have never made the time to track that down for myself. The New Yorker does what it can.
