Unhold Us, Senators
This country needs one great museum to chart the amazing story of women’s history. A bill now stalled in the Senate would provide exactly that.
Yes. Gail Collins needs to be among the first visitors. -

We Haven’t Hit Bottom Yet
While data zealots have declared the end of the Great Recession, its pain is still very real for millions of Americans.
We really have not begun to fall. Inflation, though very low, is still positive. The defenders of wall street have been holding up the sky.

“Finally, Professional Dictation Software for the Mac - http://nyti.ms/a121TE”Macs are addictive. It is "your" budget. My understanding is that the learning curve is steep and the result is not very satisfactory.Pogue seems to think it works. I wonder how it does with background noise.

Showing Gay Teens a Happy Future
A new online video channel is reaching out to teenagers who are bullied at school for being gay. The message: life really does get better after high school.
Most teens have guardians. Self appointed watchers in charge of their "purity" or "Innocence" or "societal safety" Approaching a teen is really not permitted except by another teen or by a licensed practitioner of some kind. Homosexuality appears genetic yet the "guardians" fear contagion. This may be the only way to get these children into adulthood with minimal trauma. It is a very real problem in the face of the blind belief that all behaviour is learned and can be unlearned. I never learned to be dyslexic. I would love to unlearn it. What I can do is learn a few things at a time. I "slip" and discover that my progress is vanishingly small. I do not see my errors.
I must get some sleep.
