How Budget Cuts Will Change the Black Middle Class - Room for Debate
What will the shrinking of the public sector mean for the economic prospects of African-Americans?
Here is the article cited in the introduction:

    Dissident Conservatives.  Tea Party?
The American Interest seems to be most interested in civil order which is seen to be in danger from the destruction of the black middle class.
The destruction is seen as a plus.

In Debt Talks, Did the Tea Party Win? - Room for Debate
Have the conservative freshmen Republicans misrepresented their constituents in being too rigid in their approach to the debt crisis?
They achieved their objective.   In doing that they now own the problems.  Those problems will get much worse.  A win not worth the price.

Will the Norway Massacre Deflate Europe's Right Wing? - Room for Debate
The killings could weaken nationalist fervor in Europe, as the Oklahoma City bombing cooled off militias in the U.S. in the late 1990s.
The Oklahoma bombing was an attempt to start a civil war.  The Norway Massacre was an attempt to promote a crusade.  Witch hunting will continue.

      Tragedy of Comedy
In an e-mail exchange with the author of a book on “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” some bonding over the demise of the romantic comedy.
Communication here is too clumsy and uncertain to allow light banter.   I would love to do some bonding by email. My AOL address is unchanged.

Voters Will Understand - Room for Debate
Constituents who understand our nation’s economic reality will support the Tea Party freshmen and the veteran lawmakers who stand on principle.    He has had too much Kool-Aid.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kool-Aid   Salt water economics works so much better.

Tea Party's Victory on Debt May Be Brief - Room for Debate
Tea Party Republicans could learn that the promises that help parties to achieve legislative victories can also come back to haunt them.
" The fact is that through their victory, Republicans “own” this deficit package, just as President Obama “owned” the stimulus."

Now the Tea Party Has Romney - Room for Debate
The Tea Party has succeeded in dragging Mitt Romney away from the political center in their direction and toward their budgetary priorities.

Europe is crashing.  Watch the Republicans try to blame the American collapse on Europe.  It will be hard to do that as the stock market runs up.  Hot money running from the crash.
