Are Top Students Getting Short Shrift? - Room for Debate
Lumping all students together in one class may help average and struggling children, but does that come at a cost to top performers?
I am still curious as to what makes a top performer and what the six percent degradation might mean.  The difference between extra credit and no extra credit is not significant.

Redefining the Meaning of No. 1
David Rothkopf makes a good point.
His reasoning is deeply flawed by his ignorant criticism of the metrics used. An instance is GDP which was and is intended to be a relative measure. A measure of this year against last year.
The steep and negatively curved income distribution it suffers from was never perceived by its composer to be possible.
Convincing the population to vote against self interest is an amazement.

Occupy Wall Street Should Beware of the Old Guard - Room for Debate
This grassroots movement must avoid being co-opted by big, established organizations like unions and political lobbies.

Can you say allies?  Of course you can.
If these groups could run the world they would.  They know it.
Congress is doing it's very best to make things worse.  They must be allowed to succeed by preventing change for the better.  They must not be allowed to legislate things worse.  We need the rural west.
