Bank Said No? Hedge Funds Fill a Void in Lending
      “Bank Said No? Hedge Funds Fill a Void in #Lending - http://nyti.ms/jMVYJX #banks #fraud #crisis #wallstreet”
This is a bug, not a feature.
Loan sharks have their uses.  Leg breakers need the work.
The vultures are always hungry.  They breed quick.

Should Insurers Pay for Eating Disorders? - Room for Debate
As insurers are pushed to pay for residential treatment for eating disorders, the principle of equal coverage for mental and physical health is tested.
It is just another psychological  problem, rather like Revealed religion.

Senate and House Split as Obama Is to Address Budget

They are still split and will continue to be split until the next election.  The Economy will get worse.  The Republicans will be happy.

Parity Won't 'Break the Bank' - Room for Debate
A robust body of research has consistently shown minimal spending increases attributable to parity.
The most expensive thing is continuing ineffective treatment.
We can know when that is the case.  If it is not helping, stop.

Parity Is the Fair Approach - Room for Debate
Just like cancer is not a single illness treated in one way, mental and addictive disorders are not a single disease treated uniformly.
Cure if possible, treat if possible and palliative care always.
We want to be well or not getting worse or not hurting in that order.
The insurance companies are just going to have to deal with it or leave the business.

A.D.H.D. Is in the American DNA - Room for Debate
You had to have special qualities — some would say special craziness — to get on a boat and come to America.
If you want to blame genetics include the rest of addictive behavior.
It is not the Frontier that selects for that.
The frontier was a population sink.  It killed more than it hardened.

Social Security as a Ponzi? It's a Bad Metaphor - Room for Debate
Ponzis depend on fraud, but there is no organization more scrupulously honest than the Social Security Administration.
Rick Perry's best feature in Texas is that the shrub left.
That cost the rest of us.  Let's not repeat the experience.

Ruin and Hope on Haiti’s Reefs
A video about Haitians learning about overfishing.
Healthy reefs are beautiful. Spending time with them is an old dream.
We might do better in the Bahamian out islands.
A bare boat charter is the way to do it.

Do the Math and Collect Unemployment - Room for Debate
For those whose economic desperation has turned them into migrant workers, a $2,800 windfall may be appealing, for others it isn't.
    Yes.

No news from the super committee yet.
Their podium gets higher the longer they wait.
