Admissions Quota Proposed in Brooklyn School Rezoning

The Education Department said that students receiving subsidized lunches would be given admissions priority for half the seats at a Brooklyn school that is the subject of a contested rezoning proposal.

The mayor's  office is not skilled in social engineering.
He must set things up so all the parties get more of what they want.

Appeals Court Rules for Transcripts in Eric Garner Case to Remain Sealed

The decision by New York State’s highest court ended a yearlong legal effort to obtain records from the grand jury that considered evidence in Mr. Garner’s death.

The legal system has almost made an end of the matter.
I do not see the civil rights case going forward.

Lawyers Battle Over Conduct in 2003 Murder Case in Brooklyn

Anna-Sigga Nicolazzi, who led the 2003 prosecution of John Giuca for the murder of a college student, denied withholding exculpatory evidence from the defense.

Jailhouse informers are untrustworthy.

John Giuca deserves a new trial.

Little-Known Center Puts Up Elite Numbers at a Bargain Price

The Heat’s Hassan Whiteside is having the type of season that should put to rest the notion that last season was a fluke.

"No longer a diamond in the rough, Whiteside has become a full diamond and is probably the biggest bargain in the N.B.A. Among the top 10 in the N.B.A. in P.E.R., the second-lowest salary is Stephen Curry’s $11,370,786, more than 11 times Whiteside’s $981,348. The average salary of the nine players in the top 10 other than Whiteside is $16.6 million."

Unfortunately it is a package deal.
