Superintendents in Florida Say Tests Failed State’s Schools, not Vice Versa

Superintendents are arguing that student tests imported from Utah were flawed and should not be used to give schools A-to-F grades.

There is a fundamental error in considering a grade for anything initially.
The tests are intended to measure changes at this point.
The state need not even publish this year.
Next year there will be changes in the numbers that are meaningful.
The year after that the meaning of the changes will increase.
Several years from now meaningful grades can be given schools and districts.
These tests have little meaning for individual students.
