Loan Servicers Faulted for Some Student Loan Problems

Some servicers may not tell borrowers about easier payments plans unless they specifically ask, according to a report from the federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Telling the borrowers would reduce the yield on the servicers investment.

The Hidden Bars of Sydney

The hidden drinking den is something relatively new to — and apparently dearly loved by — Australia’s largest city.

Nothing to write about.

Restaurant Review: French Without the Fuss at Amuse

Amuse in Westfield, N.J., takes a laid-back approach to French food, but that isn’t to say it’s a laissez-faire one.

Starvation formed the food of France.

French food preparation needs the spur of desperation.

Bus Stop vs. Condo Entrance

A building awing and a bus stop intersect; bedbug advice; and a conflict in a co-op over access to an apartment for repairs.

Single family housing solves many problems.
It is not dense.

Better communication is necessary.

Sooner is better.  As soon as you can is best.

A Big Boost for the Climate Summit

India becomes the last big nation to make a pledge to fight rising greenhouse gas emissions.

India has no oil.
India has no developed gas.  It would be interesting to explore for gas.
India has no wind.
Photovoltaic power is new.
Hydropower is limited.

Big reservoirs high up would be good.
They would provide power and flood control.

The city can do fine at controlling legionella.
