In the United States, the half the sky that is struggling, in school at least, is disproportionately male. I welcome reader comments on this problem and how to address it.

I was with you right up to the explosions. That is too big a price to pay. We're paying it every day.

???? use more words for me. I am male.

If this is about the selection of reading for boys, I disagree.

The explosions are for broad undirected destruction. Sublimation for anger and frustration with the world as it is. What is being paid for is your nine millimeter. The directed and personal violence of misplaced defence and revenge. The Code Duello has no place in our society. Civil torts are very easy.

Detective fiction is interestingly contrasted to spy fiction. The one is the discovery of evil doers. So is much of the other. Some spy fiction follows the superman mold in being considerations of the ends justifying the means.

Torture in all its forms really belongs in the realm of twisted porn.

Kids need kid culture. It teaches acceptable behavior. Bullying was and should be trained out there. When it was not, There are consequences.
