Review: At Kishuya, Some Noodles to Go With That Drink

Kishuya, in Hartsdale, has a long counter, great for a quick drink and a snack, or working your way up to a heartier meal.

Breuer Building Expands the Imagination, and the Budget, of the Met

The new Met Breuer museum will cost $17 million each year to run. The Met also spent millions upgrading and rebranding the building.

The Breuer building is a piece of sculpture.
It is similar to the Wright Gugenheim in that.
It is only incidentally a gallery space.
The building requires a curatorial approach.

The museum board should stop whining.

Where China Goes to Chill

A trip to the ancient city of Chengdu, where the pace is slow, the food is spicy and there’s always time for a good gossip over a cup of tea.

The China that was is best learned from books.

I am not fluent or literate in the Chinese languages.

I am not enough of a scholar to learn directly from the archaeological record.

I have little reason to go there.
