The state will offer tests to all pregnant women who have been to a country affected by the Zika epidemic, regardless of whether they show symptoms, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo said.

The blood test should be extended to all travelers from infected areas.

A federal jury awarded $23.1 million on Wednesday to a 22-year-old black man who was unarmed when he was shot and paralyzed by a sheriff’s deputy, but Florida lawmakers will have to approve any award above $200,000.

I do not expect legislative approval of the award.
