The Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose, Calif., said it had identified all the people potentially exposed and was contacting them.

The medical establishment is very worried about tuberculosis.

There is no mention of drug resistance in this story.

120 Multistate Outbreaks: Tip of Iceberg in Food-borne Infection

Every state has been affected, and multistate outbreaks led to 7,929 illnesses from 2010-14, though outbreaks overall sickened more than 71,000 people in that time.

We cannot assume any food is safe to eat.
Almost all of it is.
8,000 / 300,000,000 = 0.00002667
71,000 / 300,000,000 = 0.00023667

Most of the time I will take those odds.

"OILERS 3, BRUINS 2 Andrej Sekera scored 41 seconds into overtime to lift visiting Edmonton over Boston for the Oilers’ sixth straight win.
Cam Talbot made 47 saves, and Jordon Eberle and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored first-period goals for Edmonton. The victory halted an eight-game losing streak in Boston for the Oilers, fresh off a 5-0 homestand — their best since 1987.
The Bruins had tied it on Brad Marchand’s goal with 4:38 to play in regulation."

An Inmate Dies, and No One Is Punished

The 2010 death of Leonard Strickland would have probably been forgotten by all but the officers and inmates at Clinton Correctional Facility. Then a breakout brought attention to the prison’s secrets.

A death by bullying.
Such deaths are ignored if possible.
We talk of human rights violations when other nations do the same.

Celtics End Win Streak by Hornets at 4 Games

Avery Bradley and Isaiah Thomas led the way for visiting Boston, which has now won seven of its past 10 games.

"Avery Bradley scored 23 points, Isaiah Thomas added 21 points and 13 assists, and the visiting Boston Celtics halted the Charlotte Hornets’ four-game winning streak with a 98-93 victory on Saturday night.
Jae Crowder added 16 points and 7 rebounds for the Celtics (14-10), who have won seven of their past 10 games. Boston bounced back after a double-overtime loss on Friday night to Stephen Curry and the unbeaten Golden State Warriors.
The Hornets had a chance to tie the game late, but Nicolas Batum’s 30-foot jumper off a side inbounds play with 6.6 seconds remaining missed everything. Evan Turner put away the game with a layup."

Mayor Bill de Blasio has criticized programs that reintegrate first-time felony offenders into society without prison, after a man who had been granted diversion was charged with killing an officer.

Finally Winning on Road, Redskins Remain in First

Chicago’s Robbie Gould missed a late 50-yard field-goal attempt, helping Washington break a nine-game road losing streak dating to last season.

" Tom Brady threw for 226 yards and two touchdowns, and the New England Patriots ended a two-game skid and clinched a playoff spot with a 27-6 win over the Texans in Houston on Sunday night.
Brady threw scoring passes to Keshawn Martin and Rob Gronkowski in the first half to help New England build a 17-6 lead.
The Patriots did not move the ball as well in the second half, but the defense harassed Texans quarterback Brian Hoyer into multiple mistakes. Jabaal Sheard had strip sacks on Hoyer twice after halftime. The Patriots recovered the second one early in the fourth, and James White made it 27-6 with a 2-yard run three plays later.
Hoyer was sacked five times and left the game to be evaluated for a concussion with about nine minutes remaining. Hoyer already missed a game this season after sustaining a concussion on Nov. 16."
