Greta Van Susteren Leaving MSNBC After Only Six Months

The former Fox News host was let go without warning, her agent and husband said, and her 6 p.m. hosting slot will be filled by Ari Melber.

MSNBC is conservative but less Republican.

New Evidence Shows DeVos Is Discarding College Policies That Are Effective

A close analysis of more than 500 failing programs suggests current rules have been successful at reining in predatory for-profit colleges.

"The rules that Ms. DeVos wants to repeal are called the gainful employment regulations. They work like this: For all for-profit programs, and any nondegree employment certificate programs at public or nonprofit colleges, the education department compares how much the typical student borrows versus how much they earn after graduation.
If the ratio is too high — if students borrow lots of money and can’t get well-paying jobs — the program is deemed “failing.” A program that fails in two out of three years becomes ineligible for federal financial aid. Since many for-profit programs get up to 90 percent of their revenue through the Department of Education, the penalty will almost surely shut them down."

The rules that Ms. DeVos wants to repeal are what the Republican party finds objectionable.

Ms. DeVos does not belong in a public capacity.

For a Dying Father of the Bride, a Wedding Built in 24 Hours

Knowing her dad’s time was fleeting, he asked, “How about marrying me tomorrow?”

Sooner is better.    As soon as you can is best.

I need positive contact to begin to honor my part.

The Problem With Participatory Democracy Is the Participants

Our politics are broken because of ordinary people who are doing it the wrong way.

Participatory democracy leads to unstable government that is incapable of accomplishing the common good.

Understanding Republican Cruelty

There are reasons the health insurance legislation is morally obscene.

Paul Krugman is a jewish Democrat.
A second generation survivor of the Roosevelt administration.
He has a moral opinion.
That is not a bad thing.
He is a scholar.
He insists on logical argument.
He is correct as far as I can dig.

Michael K. Williams Is More Than Omar From ‘The Wire’

Mr. Williams has made a career of bringing nuance and contrast to his roles, inspired by the swaggering characters he grew up with in East Flatbush.

I am not brave enough to want to move to East Flatbush.

Failure to learn has always carried a death penalty.

Trump’s Doubtful Claims About a Gang and Mexican Sugar

President Trump falsely said he had deported half of the notorious street gang MS-13, and exaggerated a trade deal with Mexico as groundbreaking.

Stephen Colbert Is Socked That He Finds Trump’s Tweets Shocking

The “Late Show” host did not think he was still capable of being surprised by something President Trump said.

It looks like an end for Trump-care.
There is no certainty.
The Republican party is capable of self-destruction.
