Long Island Plane Crash Kills 3

The small aircraft, which took off from Myrtle Beach, S.C., was headed to Plainville, Conn., officials said.

"Robert Gretz, a senior air safety investigator for the board, said on Tuesday night that the plane went off radar and “broke up in flight” over Syosset."

There will be a report.
Structural failure is indicated but the cause is not obvious.

To Rebuild a Neighborhood, Philadelphia Goes Beyond Housing

In addition to building homes in the Sharswood neighborhood, the city’s housing agency is also looking at businesses and schools.

Aside from the housing authority there is no mention of industry.
People must earn to live human lives.

The unidentified man’s body, whose face was wrapped in duct tape and whose arms were tied behind his back, was found by a Kingsborough Community College student.

Death with torture.

Upstate New York’s Defiant District Attorney

State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman is suing a local prosecutor for flouting the law over a police shooting case in Troy.

This is a precedence fight among the prosecutors.
The verdict will not be set aside.
State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman is correct.
Troy should not have tried the case.

Pregnant Connecticut Woman Is Found to Have Zika Virus

The woman, the third resident of the state to receive a Zika diagnosis, became ill with a fever and a rash while traveling to Central America about a month ago.

Keep her away from mosquitoes.
Give her ultrasounds and the offer of a late term abortion.
The state does not need a microcephalic child.
If the child is desired sponsor her man.

Geri Taylor’s Journey With Alzheimer’s

Medical professionals and others respond to a special report.

At a guess Alzheimer's research is fully funded.
At this time there is no target needing further funding.

Basic research is necessary and not impossibly expensive.
It is hard to get it done because there is no immediate practical benefit.
The heirs of Senator Proxmire would rather pay off their supporters.

Barriers to Scenic Vistas

The mayor of Imperial Beach, Calif., writes that fences prevent urban residents from full access to fragile coastal and marine protected areas.

Protected areas are protected from people.
The beach is public.  The land behind the beach is private.

If a city wants land for public use it must acquire it from the owner.
The fences do not belong to the city unless it buys them.
