A Friend Moves to Washington

A group of lawyers discussed the drawbacks of Washington, Los Angeles, Austin and Atlanta, and ruled that New York is the best.

I am able to deal with Washington for a few years.
I do not want to die there.

Black Men, Violence and ‘Fierce Urgency’

Yes, personal choice plays a role, but people make choices within an environmental context — which is affected by state and federal policy.

A large portion of the population is considered surplus by the oligarchy.
The U.S. does not do concentration camps.
The U.S. does "homeless shelters", Flint and the rural South.

When the News Is Scary, Consider the Audience

Also, getting out of an ugly corner, easing control over a party and responding to remarks on a pricey gift.

I can send most of my relatives after the fact notifications.
They would probably be relieved.

Los Angeles County Restricts Solitary for Juveniles

A plan approved by the Board of Supervisors allows for the use of solitary confinement only for short periods, after consultation with a mental health professional.

"The devil is in the details."
I hope it works.
Reinforcing insanity is not a good thing to do.

Milo Yiannopoulos Doesn’t Have Feelings

The writer and podcast host talks about being shamed by other gay people, his white-privilege fund and being a Trump-sexual.

"Golden Dawn".

Unfortunately it is not a joke.
The presumptive Republican candidate has a "family"resemblance.

Los Angeles Man Is Convicted in ‘Grim Sleeper’ Serial Killer Case

Lonnie D. Franklin Jr. was convicted of killing nine young women and a teenager in South Los Angeles from the mid-1980s until 2007.

I am sorry it took the Los Angelese police so long to find him.
There is more than enough evidence to convict him without the D.N.A. evidence.
He has been a skilled murderer.
With a single exception his photo collection has not been related to living persons.

India’s Answer to Global Warming: Cows That Belch Less

Cows, goats and other ruminant animals in India release 13 tons of methane every year. Scientists are studying breeds and food, hoping to reduce their output.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_carbon_dioxide_emissions
2,341,000,000 tons of carbon dioxide released by India in 2013
Roughly one third of carbon dioxide is carbon by weight.
Most of methane is carbon by weight.
2,341,000,000/3 = 780,333,333.3
13/780,333,333 = .0000017%  A rounding error
India has chosen to ignore global warming.
Everyone will suffer the consequences.

Woman Who Abandoned Girl at New York Subway Station Is Found Dead

The authorities said the body of Frankea Dabbs, 22, was discovered in the Mississippi River in St. Louis.

I do not know enough to say anything about Frankea Dabbs.
A first question is where is her two year old.

A Washington doctor said hospital officials broke the law by ordering her to stop publicly defending abortion after the Colorado shooting in November.

Her hospital should sit down and be quiet.

For him it seems to be the preservation of experience.
For me it is the process of understanding the problem.
